Small Group Workshops
My photography workshops run throughout the year, with new dates announced regularly on social media.
Alternatively, if you have a group and would like to arrange a private session on specific dates, please contact me to discuss availability.
All workshops are taught in small groups to ensure a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of individual attention.

Workshop 1
Landscape Photography
This workshop focuses on photographing both natural and urban landscapes.
You will learn how to work with natural light, improve your compositions, and develop a creative approach to outdoor photography.
Workshop 2
Introduction to Studio Portraiture
An essential introduction to studio portrait photography using natural and LED lighting.
You’ll learn how to work with natural and LED lighting and how to direct your subject. Hands-on guidance throughout the session.
Workshop 3
Location Portrait Photography
Learn how to create striking portraits on location using available light and simple lighting techniques.
This workshop covers selecting locations, working with your subject, and understanding available light.
One to One Photography Tuition
Simplify your process. Make photographs with intention.
These photography sessions focus on the essential elements of image-making:
Concept • Composition • Light • Realisation
Underlying everything is awareness of your creative process — understand why you make photographs the way you do, how you can make better photographs and how to repeat that process to consistently create the images you want.
One-to-One Half-Day
3 hours, 9am-12 noon or 1pm-4pm

- You should be familiar with the basic functions of your digital camera
If you are currently working on a project and would like to include it during the day, please let me know in advance so we can discuss the best approach.

Before the course:
Please send 5 photographs that best represent your photography and interests.
Files should be sent via WeTransfer.
After the course:
You may send me 10 recent photographs, and I will offer feedback, guidance, and suggestions for development.
About me
I began my professional photography career in 1993 in Bristol. Alongside my professional practice, I taught photography at Watershed Media Centre, Bristol, and Soundwell Further Education College.
In 2004, I founded Andalucian Photography Holidays in Spain, offering five-day landscape photography courses.
In 2008, I launched Make Better Photographs in the UK, running both organisations alongside each other.
